ANALISIS MOLEKULER VIRUS FLU BURUNG H7 YANG ADA DI EURASIA SELAMA 1999 – 2005 : DETEKSI PENGGANDAAN GENOTIPE VIRUS REASSORTANT

Infeksi flu burung oleh virus strain H7 telah menyerang beberapa peternakan dan juga manusia di beberapa negara di Eropa selama beberapa tahun belakangan ini. Pada beberapa kasus, virus strain H7 diketahui berasal dari peternakan lokal, namun hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa penyebaran virus strain H7 awalnya berasal dari burung liar. Karakterisasi genom virus strain H7 yang diisolasi dari kedua kelompok burung tersebut (burung liar dan burung lokal) menunjukkan sudah tidak ada hubungan evolusioner. Perbandingan hasil analisis filogenetik antara virus strain H7 yang diperoleh dari bebek lokal dan bebek liar di Italia dan di Cina selatan dengan strain yang diperoleh dari ayam dan kalkun dari peternakan darat menunjukkan bahwa gen Haemaglutinin dari virus strain H7 memiliki hubungan kekerabatan yang dekat dengan strain lainnya. Analisis ciri antigenik dan genetik juga telah dilakukan dimana hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa variabilitas dari virus strain H7 dipengaruhi oleh dua macam bahan di dalam genomnya. Akibat dari adanya fakta ini adalah munculnya varian virus reassortant yang berbahaya. Hampir setiap tahun telah berhasil diidentifikasi virus strain H7 reassortant dan paling sedikit setiap dua tahun yang berbeda lebih dari satu genotipe H7 muncul. Data yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa peristiwa reassortment memungkinkan virus flu burung pada lingkungan alaminya dapat meningkatkan diversitas genetiknya yang pada gilirannya mungkin akan membantu kolonisasi flu burung pada kisaran inang yang lebih luas termasuk juga pada peternakan lokal.
